Pushkar Camel Fair
- Pushkar is a sacred town that holds the privilege of having the only
temple in India dedicated to the divine creator of the universe known as
Lord Brahma. It is also the venue of the annual Pushkar Fair to be held
this year on 7th - 13th November. The dates for the year 2009 fair are
27 October - 02 November. Situated at a distance of 14 kms off Ajmer in
tranquil environs, this small city is surrounded by hills from three
sides and sand dunes on the other. Pushkar has a very rich architectural
and cultural heritage. The major tourist attractions of the city are the
temples of Lord Brahma, Goddess Savitri and the holy Pushkar Lake.
